About James Langstone

I originally started out working with older students in colleges and universities, however I wanted to try a wider range of challenges that would help to push me as an educator both professionally and personally. I have been teaching and living in Japan for the past 10 years and have acquired many skills and had experiences that I believe will make me a more effective teacher wherever I chose to continue my career. At previous positions, I had begun taking the steps required to go beyond the classroom and was placed in charge of Professional Development for staff in regards to ICT integration into all subjects in order to give our students the best education possible. I was also brought on as an adviser for the further development of the schools Cambridge Curriculum. Shortly after this, I continued developing my passion for technology integration by completing both level 1 and 2 Google Educator courses and eventually moving on to qualifying as a Google Certified Trainer! I also became an Apple Educator and one day hope to become Distinguished Apple Educator. I currently teaching as an Elementary Homeroom Teacher at Nishimachi International School, where I am continuing to developing my skill set to one day progress to the role of a headteacher, moving up from department head or equivalent administrative role either within Japan or my home country of England. Most recently I begun working closely with leadership by becoming the Learning Leader of Elementary, facing new challenges and helping with changes and innovations to how we teach and what we use to do so. I am currently working towards a Masters in Education, including units of leadership which I am expecting to graduate from in 2028
