About James Legaspi

James Legaspi is an emerging multimedia artist living and working on the Treaty Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Brampton, Ontario. Legaspi received an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and an advanced diploma from Sheridan College, along with the Dr. Annie Smith Travel Award upon graduating. Legaspi has screened and exhibited work in Toronto, Seattle, and Quezon City, with notable recent activity including work shown at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto where magnolia won the Shelley Peterson Student Art Award, curatorial work at the Blackwood Gallery where Legaspi earned the Curatorial Project Award, and participation in the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival's Unsung Voices program while simultaneously working there as an editor.
