About James Litteral

James Litteral earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Cleveland State University and his Master of Music Education from Boston University. He is a professional member of the Ohio Music Education Association and American Choral Directors Association. He has been in education for six years and this is his third at Holy Name where he serves as the Music Director. Courses and responsibilities include; Marching Band, Jazz Band, Choir, String Ensemble, Symphonic Band, History of Rock n Roll, Music Technology, and Music Director of the Spring Musical. All the ensembles have three or four major performances a year and numerous smaller performances. The Marching Band participates in multiple parades and events throughout the region including the St Rocco's Festival and Cleveland St. Patrick's Day Parades. The Holy Name Choir annually performs the National Anthem for Cleveland State University, The Cleveland Monsters, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Students consistently earn top ratings at OMEA Solo and Ensemble performances Litteral enjoys spending time with his family, his cats, golfing, continuing his education and maintaining a performing career. Recently, he has performed with the Parma Symphony in Amahl and The Night Visitors, the Willoughby Fine Arts production of The Who’s Tommy, and he continues to sing with the Baldwin Wallace University Men’s Chorus.
