About James Lykowski

I have worked 30 years in the Automotive Engineering field, primarily in Ignition design and development. I'm the inventor on a number of patents in the ignition field including patents related to geometries, materials, function and completely new concepts. I'm currently working on an entirely new RF ignition technology (ACIS - Advanced Corona Ignition System) which improves ignition and combustion resulting in improved fuel economy and enabling advanced combustion strategies to be implemented. Although I'm trained as a Mechanical Engineer, I also have significant Electrical Engineering capabilities. I'm extremely hands on and have very good machine shop capabilities. I've served as an active member and Chairman for our National Standards Committee on Ignition and have served on the International Standards Organization (ISO) as US National Representative and technical expert. I have participated in creating most of the National and International ignitions standards in use today. I'm also trained as a Firefighter and medically licensed as an EMT-B and have served as such in my community since Past President and current Vice President of our firefighter association. I serve as video director at my local church. In my spare time I enjoy working on cars, guns, home restoration projects, hunting, fishing, wine making and most recently collecting sap and making maple syrup.
