About James Mann

As a molecular biologist and Army Entomologist, I have a unique background in both biology and military service. I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of biological systems, and my passion for understanding the natural world has led me down a path of discovery and innovation. In my role as an Army Entomologist, I have had the opportunity to apply my knowledge of molecular biology to the study of insect-borne diseases and their impact on military personnel. As a molecular biologist, I have conducted research focusing on mosquito biology. I worked with CRISPR-Cas12 to develop fieldable viral diagnostics focusing on mosquitoborne illnesses. Additionally, I used molecular techniques to identify mosquito species and bloodmeal host species. In addition to my work in the Army, I have also contributed to a number of academic publications and have presented my research at conferences around the United States. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and collaborating with others to advance our understanding of the biological world.
