About James Marsh

I am a physician assistant with 6 years in orthopedics and a decade of experience in education. While training in orthopedics I enjoyed assisting in very interesting and technically challenging foot and ankle trauma procedures as well as total joint replacements, hand and upper extremity procedures. Efficiently supporting surgeons and helping patients is fun and fascinating for me. In both orthopedics and general surgery, I performed all the responsibilities of first assist. With a background in fine craftsmanship and music, I have the dexterity and attention to detail that will provide patients with exceptional results. While in Surgical Specialties I enjoyed working with a wide variety of patients perioperatively and felt invested in the life-changing effects of their procedures. In my training in cardiology, general surgery and orthopedic surgery, supporting my patients as they transitioned through their treatment was incredibly gratifying for me. As a new grad, I must emphasize my clinical volunteer experience and success in previous fields. My work as a construction superintendent and lead finish carpenter was the culmination of just a few years experience in the trades- a rare accomplishment in carpentry. I have volunteered in shelters, on a neuropathic pain project and in professional environments. Volunteering has been my touchstone for lifelong learning. Detail driven, organized and independent, I bring 10 years experience in university and professional education to my patient visits. Using humor and motivational techniques has made my relationships with patients supportive, fun and effective. I feel that pre and postoperatively I can deliver compassionate and memorable care to support superior outcomes. My goal is to join a team that operates with compassion and efficiency while taking challenging and interesting cases.
