James' work involves commercial and legal management at Nacap Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Quanta Services Inc, a Fortune 500 company (NYSE: PWR) in the engineering, design, construction and maintenance of projects in Australia & Papua New Guinea. James has extensive experience tendering and executing across most US states (with significant experience in TX, CA, NY, HI, WA, VA, NJ, CT, MA, PA, WV, NM, AZ, UT), Guam, the Marianas, Canada, Qatar and Japan in- pipelines - oil, gas, water, slurry, and city distribution networks- airports - air-side works (San Diego, LAX, John Wayne, Honolulu, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, La Guardia, Houston Bush, Houston Hobby, Austin, Orlando)- oil & gas facilities and refineries- drilling (HDD)- defense facilities - airfields, tank farms, aircraft refueling networks, ordnance storage, naval bases (Pearl Harbor, Naval Base Kitsap), radar & communication stations - US West Coast, Hawaii, Guam, Japan- super-computing (CA)- telecommunications- electricity generation & transmission (substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure)- predominantly California- renewables - wind (offshore & onshore), solar, RNG. James' work includes project origination, tendering, and development of projects in each of these sectors, claims resolution, corporate secretarial work, asset purchase/leasing, OH & S and environmental. In private practice, James’ work involved work for major multinational project developers and contractors in the development of international projects and contractual and non-contractual claims resolution arising from education, research, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure projects. This experience involves work throughout Australia as well as foreign jurisdictions such as Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Papua New Guinea and in Australian State and Federal Courts, and domestic and international arbitrations. James' work has included involvement with the following projects: Oil & gas - Offshore & onshore oil and gas fields, CSG, LNG and pipeline infrastructure. Infrastructure - Desalination, Electric Vehicle, telecommunications, rail and motorway infrastructure. Buildings - research and teaching buildings, sports stadiums, and various high-rise apartment complexes. Construction and infrastructure commercial management and law, project and joint venture structuring, construction advisory work and disputes (including security of payment, domestic and international arbitration, and litigation work). Prior to studying law James completed the Qantas Cadet Pilot Program.
