About James Matson

James Matson, M.D, FAAP is a critical care physician, a published author, lecturer, and medical technology entrepreneur. For more than 20-years, while running a private practice, Dr. Matson has been researching and developing therapies to address the problems of destructive inflammation, in particular severe sepsis with multiple organ failure. These efforts led Dr. Matson to launch Immunocept Medical Products, LLC to seek FDA approval for the company’s first product, the SeptiFlux™ hollow fiber membrane therapeutic blood filter. Investigational Device Exemption for the first clinical trial as approved in January 2015. The trial, targeted to launch in late 2015, will be conducted in major medical centers across the United States. Dr. Matson serves as President and Chief Medical Officer for Immunocept. As a 34-year veteran of critical care, Dr. Matson has built and managed two intensive care units. He is board certified in critical care and nephrology and is regarded internationally as an innovator in sepsis therapeutics. Dr. Matson has published articles and abstracts on blood purification, diseases of destructive inflammation, severe sepsis and multiple organ failure. Many of these publications have been created in conjunction with thought leaders in the US, Europe, and Australia. Dr. Matson and the Immunocept Medical Products team are actively working to secure the next round of funding for clinical trials to advance this significant medical technology.
