About James Mburu

James is a public health leader, with over 15 years’ experience in public health, specializing in sustainable health development, systems strengthening, project management, demand generation, strategic partnerships, social marketing, market insight synthesis and community health with programs funded by FCDO, DANIDA, CIFF, BMGF, Mastercard, proctor & gamble and government of Kenya in focus areas: Malaria, GBV, Reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health & nutrition. Under latest FCDO family planning funded program, I developed 19 county specific demand strategies, coordinated signing of MOUs with 19 counties, on-boarded 1200 community health champions, participated in developing 7 FP policies, linked 1996 health facilities to MNCH services, engaged over 11 million persons through local radio, 5 million through social media and 4 million through community resource persons, optimized market for HIV self test kits, Malaria rapid test kits, trust and sure condoms, Femi plan, DMPA-SC, cervical cancer cryotherapy machine in Kenya. As a result, 2.7 million DALYs averted, 1.7 million unwanted pregnancy averted, 0.4 million abortions averted, 4524 maternal deaths averted, 345,670 FP additional users on-boarded, 400,345 adolescent accessed FP and 4567 PWDs facilitated to access FP products
