About James McCloskey
I am currently studying Physics in Tyndall National Institute with the photonics theory group. I am currently investigating the mult-excitonic properties of Nitride Quantum Dots. This involves using parallel computing in C/C++ and implementing MPI to do atomistic calculations to get a detailed description of their electronic structure and carrier interactions. These interactions are then modelled in full using Python and MatLab. This work required a detailed knowledge of quantum mechanics and numerical modelling. I also have been teaching tutorials in maths and physics for five years. I am part of the PIADS CDT programme, in which I partake in extra courses which includes an annual winter school and summer conclave.
