About James McDermott

As a Construction Manager at Orbit Homes Group, I lead a team of five project managers, overseeing 80 to 95 residential builds across Melbourne’s northern suburbs. With well over a decade in the building and construction industry, I bring expertise in carpentry, framing, finishing, project management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control. I am responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship. My role involves coordinating with trades, suppliers, and stakeholders, managing risk, maintaining site safety, and continuously improving processes to drive efficiency. I thrive in fast-paced environments, working closely with a skilled team to overcome challenges and embrace new industry innovations. Proud to be part of Orbit Homes Group, one of Victoria’s leading home builders, where we build every home as we would build it for our family.
