I was born and raised outside of Boston Massachusetts and attended high school at Deerfield Academy in Western Massachusetts. Received a BA degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, graduating in 1986 with a BA in Political Science and a minor in History. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I spent two years working in the claims department of United Services Automobile Association. In 1988, I began my legal studies at St. Mary’s University and graduated with a J.D. in 1991. Since graduating from law school, my primary focus has been an advocate for individuals and small businesses throughout South Texas with my law practice focusing on personal injury and employment litigation. I am a certified mediator and in July of 2015, I became licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado. I recently became a founding partner of the Law Firm of Downs, McDonough & Cowan based in Durango Colorado. Downs, McDonough, & Cowan focuses their practice in the representation of those who are seriously injured.
