About James McElearney

I have been a PhD student at the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics at Queen's University Belfast since October 2023. In September 2021 I began an MA in Politics at Queen's University Belfast. I graduated in Autumn 2022 with first class honours. In June 2020 I received the results of my undergraduate degree, a B.A in Economics, Politics and Law from DCU. While I was delighted to have graduated with a 1:1, this was compounded when I discovered that I had received the best results in my year, and the highest ever grade out of all of the previous Economics, Politics and Law graduates. I have worked at LMFM Radio - the largest media organisation in counties Louth and Meath - since November 2014. I began as 'Saturday Sport' only. However, My first voyage into broadcasting came in March 2021, when I begun working as 'Sports Correspondent', with my colleague Paul McGuinness looking after the music. I have taken on the Presenter's role since March 2022, whilst also self-producing. Additionally, I worked as Producer of the 'Sunday Sport' show from the Spring of 2021 to the Spring of 2023. Ove the course of that time I presented the show on a number of occasions, and have continued to due so since. My time at LMFM thus far has contributed to the enhancement of my organisation, interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
