As of June 2023, I am a Web Developer at Bricksave, a crowdfunding prop-tech company based in London. My particular passions are programming in Python; most often in web programming with the Django web and REST frameworks. Outside of the frameworks, I predominantly use Python for building microservices, such as using within AWS Lambda. Having run my own on-premises production server for over 10 years (HP DL380 G3 and G5), I migrated to the AWS platform in 2020. Over 13 years' experience with production-grade databases (DBA), particularly RDBMS' such as PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB. I enjoy the challenges of working with big datasets and utilising transformation techniques with ETL to build business intelligence solutions that provide accurate data with impact. As a keen data engineer, automation within reporting systems is where I feel "where the real action" is.
