My journey into the world of investments was inspired by my grandfather, who, even after developing Alzheimer’s disease, entrusted me with the management of his investment portfolios. Guided by my grandfather’s enthusiasm and support, I pursued a bachelor's degree in mathematics and business, followed by a master’s degree in mathematical finance and setting my sights on a career in New York City. However, life took an unexpected yet rewarding turn when I met my future wife, leading me to a six-month stint in the UK Financial District before returning to Toronto – a detour I cherish deeply. My professional career began with TD Securities and Bank of Montreal, eventually leading me to Manulife Financial, where I have thrived for the past 18 years in various roles. Manulife has been an exceptional place to work, offering opportunities that have exceeded my expectations. The keys to my success at Manulife include: 1. Internal Derivatives Expert: As the resident derivatives expert at Manulife, I specialize in ISDA agreements, regulatory changes and requirements, trade execution and valuation. I enjoy collaborating with different teams to solve complex problems and share my expertise. Problem Solver: With extensive experience at Manulife, I am frequently called upon to address challenges, particularly those involving derivatives, but also in areas beyond my usual area of focus. Collaborative Contributor: I am consistently eager to support initiatives, regardless of their scale or whether they fall outside my usual area of expertise. Effective Communicator: I possess a unique ability to distill complex, often mathematically-based concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior management. Outside of my professional life, I am an avid baseball fan, enjoy tackling home improvement projects and love reading fiction novels, with Lee Child being my favourite author. I am also a proud father of three and dedicate many hours volunteering as a swim official and serving on the board of my local swim club.
