Background

About James McTavish

I'm a strategic and outcomes-driven Principal Product Manager with over 8 years of experience leading high-impact initiatives across financial services. From digital platform modernization to call centre AI integration, I’ve consistently delivered measurable results by aligning product strategy with member needs and business goals. At ATB, I helped drive a multi-year transformation of digital and voice channels — improving operational efficiency, growing revenue, and embedding experimentation practices across product teams. I thrive in cross-functional environments, building strong relationships across engineering, design, operations, and leadership to get the right things done. While my day-to-day focuses on leading product strategy, I stay hands-on and continue to build my skills in AI, software development, and emerging technologies — ensuring I can connect the big picture with the technical realities. I’m passionate about creating people-first, digital-first experiences — and enabling teams to deliver meaningful, measurable value.
