About James Mock

Throughout my internships, I've sought to gain a deep understanding of process improvement techniques as well as a solid foundation into managerial skills. My extensive experience even before graduation has provided me with the grounds for bringing together a relentless work ethic with high-level engineering skills. At Purdue University, I'm honing my Chemical Engineering skills while actively engaging in research across multiple departments. With the Purdue Process Safety & Assurance Center, I'm looking to apply electrochemistry and other manufacturing process improvements to reduce industry hazards. With the Purdue Energetics Research Center, I'm developing a thorough understanding of laboratory activities and analysis techniques through my creation and exploration of energetic materials. Concurrently, as a Teaching Assistant, I contribute to the professional development of my engineering peers. We have successfully connected thousands students with industry leaders, facilitated career preparation through resume critiques and interview workshops, and mentored young engineers. My commitment to growth extends personally to rigorous scheduling to balance academic and professional responsibilities. In my free time, I follow my passions for health and fitness as I seek ways to perfect my nutrition and training in the gym to maximize my health and overall lifestyle. I am also an avid soccer fan and enjoy hiking and backpacking! I'm always looking to connect with people with similar passions, career paths, or motivations who continually chase making life better.
