I am currently the Fire Chief of the Norway Fire Department. This is a progressive, inclusive, and rapidly growing organization that is an all-hazard Fire/EMS Service. Servicing the residents and visitors of the Town of Norway and surrounding communities. Work as a Faculty/Adjunct Fire Instructor & EMS Specialty Trainer at Gateway Technical College. Also a Red Hawk Junior Fire/EMS Summer Camp Program Coordinator. Aspiring leadership/entry level firefighter coach. Share my experience, KSA's with candidates who are trying to get a job or promoted. I offer this service free of charge as I want to pass on the good fortune(s) the Fire Service gave me! I was the Director of Plant Operations, Safety Officer and Emergency Program Manager at a 40 Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Responsible for all operations of the Hospital's mechanicals and patient equipment. Provided all of the Life Safety and Annual Training. Prior to that I was the Interim Fire Chief, CFO-Retired 3/25/2020, of a progressive, professional combination/urban fire department that covered 36 square miles with a population of 35,710. Menomonee Falls is considered the largest Village and the 21st largest municipality in the State of Wisconsin. Menomonee Falls has one major freeway, one major railroad line, and a large chemical warehouse and processing facility. The Village is also home to a 190 bed-acute care regional hospital, several large medical clinics, assisted living facilities, two specialty care facilities and two nursing homes. I oversaw five (5) fire stations and 100 members, made-up of full-time, part-time staff, and a annual budget. Throughout my 29 + year career I've made every attempt to maintain my strong core values, that include but are not limited to, honesty, integrity, humble, leading by example and doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. I strive to mentor at every opportunity, mainly because of my passion and willingness to share my knowledge. While at the MFFD, I implemented numerous changes/initiatives-I wrote/submitted the Paramedic Ops plan, implemented new promotional/entry level assessment process. Worked to cultivate seamless/cooperative relationships/service with neighboring departments throughout Waukesha County. I implemented a Cancer Prevention initiative that was awarded the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs Safety Section Leadership Award. Developed Acting Officer/Recruit Mentoring Manual/Program. Led the organization as a Servant Leader with my focus on giving members the tools and resources to do their jobs safely and effectively.
