I am the President at MedCounsel Inc. and a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar practicing through MedCounsel Law. At MedCounsel, we are on a mission to level the playing field in medical malpractice litigation. The initial concept for MedCounsel was conceived in response to inequities I observed while working to defend physicians facing medical malpractice allegations. In this role, I was exposed to the devastating impact medical errors have for the many individuals who lose their quality of life and families who lose their loved ones. After experiencing the long uphill struggle these people face when seeking compensation for their loss, I felt compelled to help. I completed articles of clerkship and worked as an associate at Curtis Dawe Lawyers from April 2016 to July 2020. As a passionate advocate for the underdog, I am a past volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association Small Claims Legal Advice Clinic, the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal Legal Assistance Clinic, and the Gathering Place Legal Advice Clinic.
