About James Moran

Before I became a teacher, I worked six years as a system designer, using Auto CADD. This job allowed me to work in the nuclear, environmental, and paper industries. I am fortunate to have had this opportunity as it allowed me to travel, meet different people, and learn so many new things. However, my passion was teaching social studies so my path took me in a different direction. So, in 1996 I made the change and started work on completing my bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University. Then, before I graduated, I was offered a teaching position with the Meridian School District in Idaho. I taught middle school, high school, ELL, and in alternative education while with the Meridian School District. This was an incredible opportunity to work with many intelligent and dedicated teachers and administrators. I learned so much from these great people. Also, the students were wonderful and their parents were very supportive. At the same time I have the opportunity coach Boys soccer at Centennial High School. The program was very successful in building successful young men in teaching them to over coming personal barriers and working together as team. Currently, I am teaching at Cambridge Junior/Senior High Schools. I have opportunity to teach every subject of Social Studies in a small community. Teaching in Cambridge has taught me to become better organized and a better teacher. Instead of having only one or two preps, at Cambridge I have five preps.
