About James Olivier

I am a Master of Science in Kinesiology; Biomechanics. My academic work consisted of evaluating the effectiveness and risk of performance running shoes. I have a deep passion for sports performance and research. Please see my projects section for the highlights of my work. I hope to work in running shoe design in the future. I have experience in Human Factors Engineering and Human Centric Product Design. I was awarded my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology; Exercise Science from the University of Maine, where I competed for their NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Team, and actively participated in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. During my athletic career, I represented Team USA at the U20 Pan American Games in Costa Rica. My secondary passions include computer science, programming, marketing, and design. I have taken various classes and I continually seek out opportunities that align with my passions. I am proficient in HTML/CSS, Java, Python, MATLAB, and I am currently working on understanding and integrating SQL, JavaScript/React/Node.js, into my own personal projects. My experience goes beyond personal task automation and pet-projects. I have adept knowledge and skill with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, and Illustrator) and social media strategy, particularly Meta’s Ecosystem (Instagram, Facebook, & Threads).
