My past experience has been almost exclusively within the retail sales sector, but I believe that the operational aspect of the retail sphere and the service industry positions I held is where I excelled the most. The knowledge gained from being customer facing for many years contributed to my understanding how to build a better and more profitable business, utilizing customer feedback in order to facilitate an inviting atmosphere where one could feel welcome. I learned quickly that there is no one-size-fits-all customer and I had to tailor the shopping experience to each individual that entered the establishment using physical and verbal cues picked up from behavioral observation and asking open ended questions. Focusing on the operational aspect of business allowed me to learn the value of vendor relations as well, helping increase growth by being a great business partner.
