About James Parker

I'm a Navy Veteran trained in Aviation Electronics by the Navy in 1995. From 1998 to 2001 I worked at the family business, Parker Heating and Cooling as a head technician. After that I had my first child and I was a stay-at-home dad and started studying computer programming, including web design, domain implementation, hosting and all other sorts of things. In 2015, I got the opportunity to run my own branch of Parker Heating and Cooling at my own discretion in Destin, FL. I took on the largest home builder in America DR Horton, they build approximately homes nation wide a year. I handled all of DR Hortons work in Walton, Okaloosa and Bay County. On average I completed more than 400 residential homes a year. I ran four, two person crews daily completing 3-4 jobs each day. I engineered all DR Horton home plans for the installation of Carrier HVAC Systems. After 4.5 years DR Horton and I had completed all the projected work they had in the 3 counties 1 year ahead of DR Hortons schedule. During the last 2 years I picked up some commercial work, working for CVS. While running day to day business operations for DR Horton I personally took on the work of taking care of all CVS service calls, during work hours and emergency calls 24/7. I serviced all CVS's in the panhandle of Florida from Jacksonville to and Pensacola and from the Alabama/Florida State line to the coast. A total of 52 stores. Then in March of 2020 COVID hit, the primary refrigeration license holder shut down the main office leaving me the sole branch left. Service alone was not enough to maintain the business. COVID was in full effect by this time summer 2020 and customers did not want anyone near their homes and all jobs sites had very strict rules on when we could be on site. This caused major issues for the company. All work practically stopped and I had to begin laying off employees due to lack of work and to try and keep the company afloat. Then in July 2020 the primary HVAC license holder informed me that he was not renewing his HVAC License. This was the end of my branch. Then the property owners of the original office sold the company's properties and building. At that time I decided to stay at home and be there for my youngest son while he finished Highschool, 11th and 12th grade years. Since 2022 I have ran a small computer repair and data recovery service and also run a maintenance service handling over 46 properties, doing finishing work on renovations and all other general and property maintenance.
