About James Phelps

When I was little, I had realized quickly that people saw me differently because of where I grew up. It ignited a fire in me to reveal the jewel of history that lay hidden in my hometown. It pushed me, sometimes unknowingly, through to where I am now: standing at this spot with my Master's Degree in one hand and multiple paths forward at my feet. History has long been an interest to me and is the passion that I have chosen to pursue. I moved to Dublin to obtain an MA in Public History from University College Dublin. It is a big change from my home back in Texas but I know it is helping to broaden my worldview and test my skills and resiliency. My current role with Saint Patrick's Cathedral is adding a new dimension to my three years experience in customer service. Being able to see the product of my work when coaches line the Close and groups explore the Cathedral is amazing feedback of what can sometimes seem like 'just emails'. I am so grateful for the team I work with and the opportunities to learn more about the Cathedral, Dublin, and the other attractions we network with. My journey is only beginning and I cannot wait to see where it will go.
