About James Pomeroy

My passion for aviation started when I was young and would go flying in my Grand Father’s airplanes. Through my Grandpa's influence, I was inspired to join the Marine Corps and become a helicopter mechanic. In the Marines I worked on Bell Ah-1W Cobras and Bell UH-1N Hueys. I became a plane captain and performed all maintenance and inspections for the aircraft. I have performed engine changes, transmission changes, blade changes, blade tracking, vibration analysis, troubleshooting and many other maintenance task on AH-1 and UH-1 models of helicopters. I worked in a general aviation shop part time while attending school to get my A&P license. It was a huge blessing to be able to work on a wide variety of different types of aircraft, as well as engine over hauls and cylinder overhauls. I am proficient at troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems. I have performed airworthiness inspections, engine changes, electrical installations, dynamic propeller balancing, dope and fabric, sheet metal repair/fabrication, weight and balance, major repairs, and lots of other maintenance task at Aviation Inspection and Repair. I loved working in general aviation, and now inspire to aide in the building of a new generation of aviation (UAS Operations). Currently, I work in the Space industry. It is amazing to be apart of a large community pushing the bounds of what seems humanly impossible. Besides the cool factor and amazing projects I get to be a part of, the best part of working in the space industry is the diversity of all the incredibly talented individuals working together for the common goal.
