About James Preston

I am an Associate Environmental Consultant with a specialization in collecting and analyzing water resource data for multiple Florida-based lake management and groundwater source tracking studies. I am proficient with the use of both handheld and floating acoustic Doppler velocimeters for flow measurement and YSI multimeters for field-based water quality parameters. I am also qualified as a stormwater, erosion, and sedimentation control inspector.I assist in coordinating and leading field efforts on field projects. From there I assemble the data and field notes into documentation for the clients as well as prepare draft documentation, reports, and technical memorandums. I also oversee the health and office safety inspections at WSPs Altamonte Spring Office and oversee safety compliance within our team. I periodically travel to see my family in Japan and have been to Mount Fuji, natural onsens, forests, and beaches. These inspired me to become fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Japanese, a level 8 Kanji Aptitude test taker, and ultimately sparked my interest in the environment.
