About James Reis

I am a dynamic professional with over 15 years of experience in the electric power and renewable energy sectors, specializing in photovoltaic solar energy, energy storage (BESS), and power systems. My expertise covers low- and medium-voltage technical solutions, including the application of circuit breakers for generator switching, arc flash protection, short-circuit limiters (IS Limiter), and protection and selectivity studies. Over the past five years, I have been involved in all phases—from conception to operation—of more than 500MWp of solar projects and led the technical and economic feasibility analysis of approximately 1.5GW of Greenfield projects for RTB (ready-to-build). At Elis Energia, I played a key role in the initial structuring of the engineering department, recruiting and developing teams both technically and in people management. As a result, I led a multidisciplinary team of over 12 professionals (engineers, technicians, and strategic partners), and within just two years, we delivered 250MWp of completed projects. In addition to operational and strategic management of the department, I implemented planning methodologies, structured individual and corporate goal tracking, ensuring efficiency and engagement—reflected in a zero-turnover rate. To optimize processes and ensure project excellence, I implemented project management tools (PowerBI, ClickUp, Monday, Asana) and technical tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Helioscope, DroneDeploy, Mappa, QGIS). I was directly involved in strategic technical interactions with major energy utilities in Brazil (CEB, CELPE, CPFL, ENERGISA, EQUATORIAL, NEOENERGIA, and LIGHT), ensuring the approval of over 150MWac in energy entry projects and technical standardization (ACATI – Technical Characteristics Modification). Additionally, I collaborated with internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, PMOs, Implementation, O&M, Executive Board, Logistics) and external stakeholders (suppliers), ensuring strategic alignment and efficient project execution.
