About James Ricci

Back-end software developer with one year of experience working with python including sqlalchemy and pandas, gitlab, kubernetes, oracle db, helm, and Unix systems. I originally started programming as a hobby, having always been interested in computer technology, my curiosity led me to learn HTML which became a sort of gateway into more powerful languages like java/javascript and python. My hobby soon became a passion, expanding my self study into Linux operating systems and Unix scripting. This eventually led me to the Computer Engineering program at Humber College. During my time there, on top of my previous knowledge, I learned about PC and embedded systems hardware, and also have begun to learn VHDL and AVR languages. My passion for computer systems is reflected in my grades, having been on the Dean’s List since the first semester. I also have experience as a team lead and Dangerous Goods Agent at Fedex Express. My responsibilities there included training new hire employees for both courier and dangerous goods agent positions, assisting management with planning and timing of delivery/pickup routes, inspecting inbound dangerous goods and attending District Employee Council meetings as chair of the Station Employee Council.
