Background

About James Ridley

I am highly motivated, hard-working, and always seeking new challenges. I excelled at school, university, sport, and the arts. I spent the first years of my working career in hospitality and customer service. I then changed my focus to the entertainment industry and worked in media, management, marketing, staging and events. In 2008 I completed a Bachelor of Business. From 2009 to 2013 I lived, worked and travelled overseas (primarily in The Netherlands). In 2014, I returned to Australia and completed a post-graduate study at Monash University majoring in history and politics, and graduating with honours. I secured placement with Teach for Australia working as a history and humanities teacher at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College in 2017. In 2018, I graduated from a Master of Teaching at Deakin University. In 2022 I secured a Learning Specialist leadership role as a Differentiation Coach. My goal now is to join a diverse, driven, passionate, innovative team where I can lead and/or collaborate with professionals utilising evidence-based research to empower students to become critical, creative and reflective thinkers. All students deserve the opportunity to become lifelong learners and valued members of the global community.
