Apple Certified Teacher Achieving a First Class Honors Degree with Marjon's University in 2021 has led me onto my current pathway of becoming an educator of music where I am often commended on the instant engagement that is received by students and staff. I have recently achieved a Level 7 PGCE (Inc DET) teaching qualification, which has allowed me to undertake and display awareness of SEN, Protected Characteristics (Equality Act, 2010), lesson and SoW planning, pastoral support, education theory, academic writing, practical teaching with theorising practice, embedding technology and other minimum core functional skills into lesson delivery as well as many other skills required in teaching practice. I am an educator working in Post-16 and Access to HE settings, understanding the relevance of Pedagogy and Andragogy required to support these learners. As a Further Education Music Teacher based in Devon, I play several instruments, including synths, bass, guitar and vocals and offer an extensive knowledge of music production using Logic Pro X (of which I scored in the top 5% of in the LinkedIn assessment), from absolute beginner to advanced level. This is something that students can engage with, utilising the knowledge, critical feedback and guidance from my teaching practice to inform a wider sense of development in music production and performance. In the past, I have worked with Exeter College to offer a selection of songwriting workshops, supporting Level 2 students towards completion of their composition units and worked closely as a Music Technology Facilitator with a CIC to offer Individuals with SEN labels to succeed and learn how to create music and as a lecturer of Music Production with Access Creative College and DBS institute, Plymouth. At present I have recently began a role with City College Plymouth as a Lecturer of Music.
