About James Rubin

Jim Rubin has an extensive practice in all aspects of real estate, zoning and land use, entertainment, public/private partnerships and business law. Over the last fifteen years, Jim has taught numerous continuing legal education courses on topics such as drafting purchase agreements, land title, survey and title insurance review, ethics, non-profit/501(c)(3) entities and estate planning. He is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (B.S.B.A.) and the University of Illinois College of Law. Jim also served from 1992-1998 as Chair of the New Mexico State Bar’s Real Estate Specialty Committee. As the entertainment industry has grown in New Mexico, Jim has expanded his practice into many aspects of entertainment law and has attended the USC Entertainment Business and Law Institute to keep abreast of developments. In his spare time, Jim served as a director (1988-2010) and president (2001-2010) of Rainbow House, an international adoption agency serving families in New Mexico and Colorado. He also coached youth soccer for thirteen years as well as track at St. Michael’s High School. Jim is an avid cyclist and loves the New Mexico mountains.
