About James Salem

I am a Certified Scrum Master and motivated professional with over fifteen years of experience in End of Line (EOL) On Board Diagnostic (OBD) testing. I applied Agile principles to manufacturing processes in order to develop, manage, and support software and hardware projects for fourteen vehicle programs across eight assembly plants worldwide. The depth and breadth of my experience includes a focused understanding of the key processes, benefits realization and problem resolution roadmap of managing multi-million dollar projects with cross-cultural and cross-functional teams in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Venezuela, and the United States. As the EOL test system resident engineer for South America based in Camaçari, Brazil from 2013 through 2020, I implemented and supported the electronic Customer Acceptance Test System (eCATS) for the five assembly plants in South America. I also trained thirteen client engineers in the use and implementation of this system. I have collaborated with all levels of personnel from assembly line operators to engineering and executive management, communicating in both English and Portuguese. Through the use of Agile principals, the direct result of my implementation efforts improved a Key Performance Indicator known as First-Time-Through (FTT) during the Tool Try-out build phase. This FTT metric increased from 20% to 80% over the course of four program launches. Throughout the process of continuous improvement, I identified several opportunities to implement new technologies and consolidate systems resulting in cost savings of over $2.65 million USD. I am dedicated to continuing my personal and professional growth and will bring my expertise to drive tangible, results-oriented changes to future programs and projects.
