About James Saunders

A motivated and conscientious individual, working as a Planning Technical Officer for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Last summer, I graduated with a BSc in Geography (Human and Physical) from the University of Reading, obtaining a strong 2:1 grade. My dissertation project on perceptions towards the UK's international aid policy achieved a First-Class mark, as well as various other modules undertaken during my studies. Throughout my degree, I have practiced numerous skills such as independent research, data collection including interviews and surveys, fieldwork collection methods, group projects and the use of Microsoft Office. Alongside my studies, I worked as a Customer Team Member at the Co-op, which has provided me with excellent communication skills, as well as an essential organisational mindset to meet degree deadlines. Recently, I travelled to New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia, whilst having a break between my degree and starting my career. This trip provided me with outstanding independency skills by completing nearly two months as a solo traveller. I am eager to use the skills that I learned abroad back here in the UK.
