About James Schorey

James Schorey has 30+ years of experience in the design and marketing of advanced medical products. He began his career at Therapeutic Technologies Inc.(TTI) as a software engineer. In ten years at TTI he rose through the ranks to become Director of Engineering, managing three FDA-registered Class II medical devices. Therapeutic Technologies was purchased in 1993 by Therapeutic Alliances Inc.(TAI), where James was named President. TAI has remained a leader in the field of rehabilitation, offering unique products like the ERGYS, a medical product that allows paralyzed individuals to pedal a stationary ergometer under the power of their own muscles.In 2014 James left Therapeutic Alliances to become the Vice President of Engineering for Control Bionics Inc.(CBI). The intellectual property of Therapeutic Alliances followed Schorey as part of his move to Control Bionics. Presently Schorey is Chief Technology Officer for CBI, overseeing Engineering, Production, Quality, and New Product Development.His wide-ranging business associations and friendships have put James on every continent but Antarctica. In his personal time he has published a set of children's books, composed numerous copyrighted musical scores, and attempted to be the best father possible to his three adult children.In 2019 Schorey published his memoir,"Love and Water," a book with a bit of everything: the love of dogs, politics, food, sports, history, friendships, musings on songwriting, studies of grammar and the written word, an untangling of the intricacies of computer science and engineering, and an examination of love and loss… It is written from the unique perspective of an author who is an anosmic (lacking a sense of smell) and has designed medical devices (some award winning) nearly all of his adult life.
