Experienced Principal Consultant specialising in project and programme delivery. Skilled at integrating into client teams where I work with the client in a Delivery Manager capacity to help the client team identify their goals and vision, develop working practices that maximise their productivity and deliver the project/programme through a series of iterations, all the while conducting retrospectives to learn from our activities and using that learning to make incremental improvements to enhance productivity and maintain high morale and empowerment of the team. Clients: I generally work with senior programme managers, business unit leads, heads of department and senior team leaders to deliver critical projects as part of strategic, business transformation programmes; consulting on ways of working, including advising on using either waterfall or agile delivery techniques. Experience: With circa 15 years of project delivery experience supported by the relevant qualifications, I can build projects from scratch; resourcing the project team, building up estimates and working up the full suite of project documentation; or I can join in-flight programmes and increase the project rigour and discipline to ensure successful delivery of project outputs, outcomes and business benefits. Either way, I am experienced at leading large, small or portfolios of projects, including delivering the project controls, such as costs, schedule (skilled in MS Project and some Primavera experience) and reporting. Approach: My clients have always appreciated my approach, which is to become an integrated member of their team, and I thoroughly enjoy working shoulder to shoulder with my client teams and sharing their challenges as my own, often acting as a catalyst to help them work more cohesively, using my cheerful, confident and supportive attitude to help move them in the right direction. I am experienced at leading large workshops to empower the team by identifying an agreed single vision, set of objectives and ways of working and then I maintain a cadence of retrospectives or lessons learned to continually refine processes and team ways of working to ensure we develop maturity and build on our experiences. Where I add real value is that I help teams work together, not just for the sake of delivering the project outputs, but to develop positive working relationships that benefit the wider business.
