About James Stace

On leaving school I became a stone mason, but this only lasted for a few years. I had a change of career and moved in to the food industry and had many years on the process side of large scale production lines. This included the dairy industry where I worked for Dairy crest on specialist products and later on a large volume milk and cheese processing plant. I was then offered a chance to move to a high volume ready meals plant and eventually into high volume bakery processing. After some 17 years in the food industry I once again had a change of direction and gained a position with Thames water as a process controller running one of their stream powered generators for 12 years and then as a process controller on their second largest sewage works at Crossness. Where I eventually took early retirement after just over 20 years service worth them. I now spend my time enjoying large DIY projects and vehicle restoration. I also enjoy keeping fit at the gym and going for runs, bike rides and hiking on trails both local and in Spain where we are lucky to have a small place and spend part of the year.
