About James Steward

I have recently joined Prismatic Ltd as an Integration Development Engineer, to lead development of future payloads. Having previously worked as a Senior Electronics and Software Engineer at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, I lead cutting-edge defence projects, ensuring successful delivery by leveraging software and firmware development skills and broad engineering experience to solve complex and diverse problems. I have led successful cross-domain integration projects, deploying RF hardware and development expertise to other defence sectors, including air and maritime, whilst running international trials with partner companies and governments. In 2024 I received awards for delivering a strategic cross-domain project with the air sector. Over three years with Digital Intelligence I gained substantial software development experience in both C++ and Python. I defined top-level architecture for projects, dictated tasks using agile and traditional PM frameworks, and both managed and mentored junior engineers to successfully deliver work items. I also have extensive firmware development experience using VHDL, building native FPGA applications and using frameworks such as OpenCPI.
