About James Strand

Through the Master of Architecture program at the University of Washington, I am continuing a deeper investigation of structural design principals, building materials and assembly, and architectural theory. Final thesis research is focused on design and environmental accounting of GHG emissions, with an emphasis on understanding embodied carbon in existing buildings and relevant policy considerations which shape the built environment. Proven federal, state, and local government management and implementation of essential assets, programs, and missions with limitless responsibility to the public good. Accomplishments and work are underpinned by an ethos of contributing toward knowledge advancement in and implementation of, a sustainable baseline for the built environment, with acute responsibility to lifecycle resource management, ecology, and human health.
