Plant Manager responsible for: • Implementing, maintaining and auditing the company’s quality, environmental and HACCP management systems and ensuring that they conform to the requirements of I.S. EN ISO : FSSC, ISO 1400, EMAS and Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 respectively as well conforming to customer quality management systems. • Responsible for the implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Statement. • Responsible for leading and managing all stages of retailer,surveillance and approval audits. • Liaising with regulatory agencies, certification bodies and customers. • Responsible for all production personnel, in conjunction with the production manager. • Maximising yields and productivity and minimising waste. • Ensuring that preventative maintenance programmes are carried out at prescribed intervals. • Ensuring that the plant is operated to maximum efficiency both from human resources and resource management. • Managing the laboratory function and staff. • Ensuring that personnel receive adequate training • Co-ordinating the resolution of complaints. • Assuring legislative and regulatory compliance. • Setting objectives and targets around quality and environmental management systems • Implementing improvement programmes. • Managing internal & external communications regarding quality, environmental, hygiene and health and safety issues. • Initiating and progressing preventive and corrective action • Ensuring that finished product is manufactured to the required quality levels. • Ensuring that operators carry out their functions in the prescribed manner, in line with documented procedure and with due regard for quality, environmental and safety requirements. • Technical, safety and environmental awareness training of new and existing employees and the assessment of their further training needs. • Auditing the quality and environmental management systems at prescribed intervals. • Conducting the Management Review.
