About James Tricker

I’m a software engineer with a physics background, working at the intersection of quantum computing, AI, and mathematical optimization. At Strangeworks, I help shape and support our AI enablement strategy, maintain the internal product catalog, and design tools that make advanced compute more accessible. I lead efforts in QA, benchmarking, and audit-ready reporting for our platform, and work closely with the Chief Technologist, and Chief Scientists in Optimization and ML to ensure our systems scale with rigor. I’m also involved in demo infrastructure, technical documentation, and sales enablement—helping scope real-world use cases and translating research into usable tooling. I’m currently carving out a path toward simulation science (with a focus on quantum chemistry), aiming to integrate these workflows into our broader ecosystem. I thrive in cross-functional roles where communication and technical depth intersect—and where clarity, trust, and context matter just as much as code.
