About James Turner

I’m a user researcher with a focus on healthcare, where good research can make a real difference. I work across qualitative and quantitative methods, mostly with public sector clients. A lot of my work has been in healthcare where I help teams understand the realities of how services are experienced, where things break down, and what needs to change. I’m used to working in complex environments where the research needs to balance insight, empathy and pragmatism. I also manage researchers and try to create the kind of environment I’d want to work in; supportive, challenging, and focused on doing research that has real measurable impact.
