About James Umbach

I have over twenty years experience in the customer service and administration fields. Currently, I work as a Planning Technician at the City of Reno, having my hands in a bunch of different projects and being a frequent presence at the public counter. Previously, I was with the State of Nevada in a variety of customer service and administrative roles. Previous positions have utilized my knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, my ability to quickly learn and absorb new tasks, and resourcefulness. I have experience in private industry, nonprofit, and government fields. Strengths include data entry, customer service, research, writing, and editing. I currently serve as chair of the Storey County Planning Commission. Previous volunteer experience includes an appointment to the Washoe County LIbrary Board of Trustees. I was also a member of the Arden-Arcade Transportation Solutions Team in 2001-2002 in Sacramento County, California. When I not hard at work, or reading, writing, or researchijng, I am out exploring Nevada's great outdoors.
