About James Watt

For over 10 years, I've designed and implemented computer network systems for locally owned businesses and family owned businesses in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Most of our customers have been with us for longer than 5 years: keeping our customers happy is our number one goal. I built my first computer and learned the basics of MS-DOS at the age of five. I have devoted my life to understanding how and why things work, especially when applied to technology and electronics. As a child, I spent my free time taking apart everything I could get my hands on, sometimes to the annoyance of my parents, who would find toasters and phones dismantled on their kitchen table. While in high school, I worked for a mom and pop computer company, Tempest Computers. My job at Tempest was to build rackmount servers at the rate of four per hour. I graduated high school in 2005 and went on to ITT Technical Institute in Monroeville, where I received my Associates in Information Technology with Honors. While in college, I worked for an IT helpdesk company, Edge Computers. In 2008, while still working part time at Edge, I started my own IT firm. Edge was growing and needed more from their technicians, so I had to make a decision. In 2009, I took the plunge to pursue Tech Direct Services full time. While scary at first, our books have been in the black every year, including our first year. I am very thankful to our many customers for the opportunities they provided these last 10 years.
