James started his career in London’s West End, as such his roots are set firmly in theatre design, his career has spanned HETV, music, and Film. His focus though, has always been on collaborating to create stunning visual experiences. His extensive and diverse worldwide experience puts him in an excellent position to fill Production, Technical Management and technical Producer roles as he is able to step in and assists technical teams if needs. James is currently active on 5 continents. James is used to handling a big team is able to communicate very efficiently in technical terms, he also able, and happy, to be hands on “in the room” if required. James is a recognised, award winning Lighting Designer in his own right, technically proficient in all technical departments. In recent years James has worked extensively as a technical consultant, technical production manager and producer. He has designed and supervised a number of custom structure builds for film. James has a firm understanding of most departments, very clear understanding of H&S in the temporary event environment and is used to high pressure live production and broadcast. James continues to work as a corporate event lighting designer as well, his experience in lighting design and install is extensive and varied, he is a proficient programmer and enjoys a good reputation and busy workbook with a stable of Uk based Clients. James was runner up in the ‘Nights of Illumination Awards” for his lighting designs in art installations, immersive experiences, performance art and large scale Theatre. He is delighted that he lost out to the British Olympic’s opening ceremony show and hungry for a new project that will stretch the boundaries of possibility again. James carries a bs79098 temporary installation for film and events electrical certificate, Mewp and Boom certificates amongst others and often oversees large electrical installations. James ran his own production company for more than 309 years supplying outdoor stages, lighting and AV to numerous high profile clients in the uk and abroad. As such James can turn his hand to Av and vision mixing, he can rig run and operate sound reinforcement systems. He also experienced in set and stage build. Having run a busy production company James is very familiar with budgeting, scheduling and logistical challenges James is currently actively seeking clients that technically adventurous and creative in the extreme to push the boundaries of visual experience. He is currently specifically interested in Saudi Arabia and West Africa.
