About James Willis

With years of experience in Quality Management and Plastic Extrusion I have developed superior leadership skills in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment. As a hands-on manager I am used to wearing many hats in addition to my normal quality related duties. This included anything from setting up and/or running the extrusion lines to material handling to pushing a broom. As a dedicated associate I always did whatever needed to be done to both cut costs and improve efficiency. During the economic downturn that led to being let go at Formtech I felt it necessary to make something happen as opposed to waiting for something to happen. With jobs in the quality field scarce at the time I opted to begin my own cleaning business. Blue Ribbon Cleaning was successful but as more and more people lost their jobs for similar reasons the competition drove prices down and I chose to move my career into a different direction. With several relatives in the pest control field I was encouraged to move in that direction. About seven years ago I decided it was time to have a mid-life career change. Several of my relatives worked in the pest control industry and they recommended I join them. I realized that I'd go from being in an upper level management/leadership position to starting at the bottom in a completely new field but I was ready to learn. After cutting my teeth at a couple of lesser companies I found Team Pest USA. I started in pest control as a technician, learned all I could, and honed my skills. Since then I've moved up to Sales. One observation I have made during my move into pest control is that as a whole the industry doesn't take full advantage of nor implement true quality control methods and ideology. Quality Control appears to be more reactive instead of process driven as it should be. Team Pest USA is a progressive, cutting edge company and far more open to new ideas than the competitors I've dealt with. As such the logical next step is to ramp up the utilization of my near decade of quality control and management experience to benefit the company.
