About James Wrathall

I am an accomplished graduate in Asian & Middle Eastern Studies and languages with a keen interest in public sector work. I have professional and voluntary experience in local government, strategic planning, project management, research and report-writing, literary and academic translation, community engagement, archives and history, commercial development, fundraising and budgeting, public health, recruitment, event planning, and English language teaching. I am currently half-way through my time on the Impact: Local Government Graduate Scheme and aspire to further work in local and central government, and particularly in international development. I have aptitude in several European and Asian languages, including French, German, Spanish, Arabic and Hindi-Urdu, particularly in their written forms, with varying high levels of speaking ability. Work involving multiple languages, cultural exchange, strategy and policy, and community development appeals very strongly to me.
