About James Wynn

Jim Wynn has more than 30 years of executive experience in underwriting, broking, and financial management in the insurance and reinsurance industries. Jim’s areas of expertise are Alternative Risk Transfer and Alternative Risk Financing Structures, Fronting and Program Management, and providing Reinsurance Capacity, Financial Analysis and Capital Markets Solutions to his clients. He is a Senior Advisor with TAG Financial Institututions Group, and a Senior Consultant with Southern Insurance Underwriters, a P&C MGA in Alpharetta, GA. From 1997 to October of 2004, Jim held several positions, including Senior Business Development Manager, for A. M. Best, the premier international insurance and alternative risk transfer rating agency. His responsibilities included producing new International and Alternative Risk Transfer ratings contracts, and he helped develop new ratings on over 40 international insurers, reinsurers and captives. Jim was also part of a team that was instrumental in establishing the first ratings on “start-up” reinsurers in AM Best’s 100+ year history. Jim returned to reinsurance and financial consulting in 2004 by establishing his own company, Resurgens Risk Solutions, a reinsurance and insurance consulting firm and intermediary in Atlanta, GA. Jim has arranged fronting capacity and structuring and negotiated reinsurance protections for a variety of clients, including MGA’s, captives, Risk Retention Groups, and traditional property and casualty insurers. Prior to joining Best in 1997, Jim was Senior Vice President of two prominent international reinsurance intermediaries. Jim is a graduate of Auburn University and also holds an MBA degree in Risk Management, Insurance and Finance from Georgia State University.
