Good day, I'm Jim, and I'm keen to connect with fellow professionals here. My career path may seem unconventional, but each experience has instilled valuable skills and perspectives that I contribute. I graduated with a degree in Media Studies from RMIT, which ignited my passion for storytelling and communication. This led me to a fulfilling career as a radio broadcast journalist, where I honed my ability to gather information, analyse complex issues, and deliver them to a wide audience in an engaging way. Then, I took a different turn and served as a soldier, developing discipline, resilience, and teamwork skills that have stayed with me ever since. ‍ For 13 years, I owned and operated my own hairdressing business in South Melbourne,'Saint James Hair Studio'(stjameshair.com.au) which taught me the importance of customer service, entrepreneurship, and adaptability. This experience also allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life and build strong relationships. ‍ For the past decade, I've also got into education as a hairdressing teacher at Vic Uni where I've found joy in inspiring and empowering young minds. This role has allowed me to share my knowledge, develop patience and communication skills, and make a positive impact on the next generation. Now, I'm thrilled to embark on a new adventure in the exciting field of cybersecurity. I've just completed my Cert 4 studies and am eager to leverage my diverse background and transferable skills to contribute to this critical domain.
