About Jameson Moore

With over nearly a decade of experience in the fields of history and education, I am passionate about connecting students and the community to the discipline of history and I especially love introducing them to the process of working with primary source material. I studied History and Anthropology at Austin College, and over the course of my career I have specialized in the history of Mexico, Texas and the United States. I currently work as a teacher at Great Hearts Texas, a public charter school that provides a classical education to the western San Antonio community. I am committed to developing and implementing a rigorous and engaging curriculum that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and respect for others among my students. Before joining Great Hearts Texas, I worked primarily in museum research and education as an Educator at the Alamo then as a Program II Specialist at the Texas Historical Commission, where I was involved in various aspects of site education, curation, and interpretation at two historic sites- Mission Dolores State Historic Site and San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site. I wrote, researched, designed, and implemented exhibits, conducted and directed educational and interpretive programming, worked extensively with archival collections to advance site research, managed, recruited, and directed volunteers, directed community outreach efforts, led school and private tours, represented the historic site in educational programming on and offsite, and led research efforts at both sites. These experiences enhanced my skills in writing, communication, research, and project management, as well as my knowledge of Texas history and culture.
