Background
About Jamie Camp
I treat from a functional perspective and complete a thorough biomechanical assessment to find the root cause of one's dysfunction. I take a hands-on approach and treat primarily using manual therapy, soft tissue work, medical acupuncture and specific muscle activation to re-pattern dysfunctional motor control. My goals for my clients are to optimize their function and athletic performance, and to reduce in the incidence of pain and injury, allowing them to do everything they want and improving quality of life. I have experience treating a wide variety of sports injuries, pain syndromes, peripheral neurological dysfunction, pre and post-surgical conditions, in both elite athletes and weekend warriors alike. I obtained my Masters in Physiotherapy (with distinction) from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom after completing an Honours degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. I was fortunate to spend time in Leeds interning with Leeds’ professional rugby union team, the Leeds Tykes (now Carnegie). I applied that experience with the Tykes as the rinkside physiotherapist for the Marlies Midget hockey team and the U23 Ontario Women’s Rugby team. I am also a clinical instructor for the University of Toronto Physiotherapy MSc. program, and have been a CI for The University of Western Ontario (MSc. PT) and the University of Rhode Island (DPT program). I enjoy a variety of sports interests. I competed on the A-level equestrian circuit, and am an avid runner, having completed my first half-marathon in 2001. My other sports interests include crossfit, basketball, rugby, swimming and I am a certified level 1 CSIA ski instructor.
